Animals in Art, Science, and Activism

Animals in Art, Science & Activism

Join TEDxMileHigh Adventures and CultureHaus to explore how the relationship between humans and animals intersects in art and science.

As long as humans and other animals have coexisted our relationship has been complex, intertwined, and ever-evolving. Join Dr. John Lukavic, curator of the Denver Art Museum s Stampede: Animals in Art exhibition, and Dr. Sarah Bexell, Director of Humane Education, Institute for Human-Animal Connection at the University of Denver, as we explore interspecies connections through the lenses of art and science. You will have the chance to explore themes of personal connection with animals, how animal materials have been used in the creation of cultural art, the impact of the entangled human-other animal relationship on our ecosystem, and the power humankind has to create positive impact through responsible choices.

Join us at either 5:30 p.m. or 6:45 p.m for this free tour. Swing by Cap City Tavern between 6 - 7:30 p.m. for a pre or post-Adventure drink on us. Tickets are free, and the event is capped at 60 guests. We look forward to seeing you!

CultureHaus Out & About Presents: A Live Mural Painting with Space Gallery Annex

Join the CultureHaus Out & About crew as we paint the walls of the new Space Gallery Annex!

Our friends at Space Gallery are opening a second location and they have found the perfect artist to paint the exterior of the building.

The Bad News: Due to scheduling conflicts the artist cannot physically be there to paint the mural.
The Good News: CultureHaus members have been invited to help paint the mural!

Here's how it works. Artist Frea Buckler will provide her vision and design of the mural, Space Gallery will handle the initial concept and outline, then CultureHaus members come in to finish painting the walls.

We will provide painting materials, light snacks, and drinks, so just be sure to bring comfortable clothes in which to paint.
