Month of Photography: Albert Chong
Wednesday, March 03, 2021 - 6:00 PM
Running Time: 1 hour
To celebrate Month of Photography, the Denver Art Museum is putting on a three-part lecture series spotlighting Colorado photographers from the local creative community.
This first lecture features Albert Chong. Through photography, installation, and sculpture, Colorado artist Albert Chong addresses themes of identity, spirituality and ritual, his family history in Jamaica, and the history of displaced peoples of the Asian and African diaspora. In his photographic practice, Chong connects to these ideas primarily through still lives and portraiture created by using a variety of techniques.
Albert Chong is a Professor of Photography at the University of Colorado in Boulder and has been a recipient of both a National Endowment of the Arts Fellowship and a Guggenheim Fellowship in photography.
