Creative Aging Convening
A daylong opportunity for practitioners working in aging-services organizations, arts centers, museums, healthcare, senior residences, and beyond to learn together about the positive impact of creative aging through deep conversation and hands-on learning. Using the temporary exhibition Composing Color: Paintings by Alma Thomas from the Smithsonian American Art Museum as a springboard, the 2024 Creative Aging Convening is focused on celebrating the role of art in lifelong creativity, longevity, and perseverance.
Attendees will...

- Engage in small group discussion on key skills, tools, and topics relevant to the field.
- Refuel (both self and work) through creative and mindful activities that help to slow down, be present, and explore creativity.
- Create connections with others working in the fields of aging, arts, and culture.
The DAM can provide accessibility accommodations to enhance your participation in the event. Please email access@denverartmuseum.org by September 6 to request American Sign Language interpretation (ASL), assistive listening devices, real-time captions (CART).
