The Museum Friends membership add-on offers DAM members an opportunity to deepen their support and broaden their horizons with a community of like-minded art aficionados. Denver Art Museum Friends take part in educational activities, lectures, exclusive tours, and more. Choose a particular area of interest, but enjoy opportunities to participate across the museum.

Create Playdate is an early-childhood program at the Denver Art Museum for families with children ages 3-5 (though siblings are always welcome too!). Create Playdate offers a range of experiences within the museum, including storytime, artmaking, or even an in-gallery activity. This program is included with the price of admission. Join in the creativity and fun!

We take art for granted but what purposes does it serve? What roles does it play in our lives and societies and, if these have changed over time, how? In this three-session course, join Giulia Bernardini, art historian and founder of art travel company Wonderfeast, to explore the place art occupies in our world and what the questions we ask about it ultimately tell us about ourselves. With the gallery as our playground, optional reading and viewing materials at hand, and lively group discussion, this participatory experience will leave attendees with a new perspective on the question: Why Do We Art?

Giulia Bernardini holds master’s degrees in art history and in museum studies and is a regular guest lecturer on Italian Renaissance and Baroque art as well as the Parisian Belle Époque. She is the founder of Wonderfeast, a boutique art travel company that specializes in unforgettable on-site seminars in her native Europe for small groups of inquisitive art-, food-, and culture-lovers.

Donations to this fund are invested by the DAM foundation with the intention to grow the fund in value over time. This fund provides an annual distribution based on the Foundation's policy.  Distributed funds are used to acquire new artwork for the DAM.

The Museum regularly reconciles expenditures made from distributed funds to ensure that they are allocated as intended.

Untitled: Artist Takeover is a quarterly collaboration with local artists and creatives to create an evening full of events, performances, artmaking, and one-of-a-kind experiences. Throughout the night, artists showcase their work while providing a hands-on and engaging atmosphere.

Programming to begin at 6pm.
